A Great day out!

Went over to see Linda, Gary, James and Emily @ their caravan in Lincolnshire, had a great day and loads to eat.
Great site, quiet, pretty and very relaxing.
Really hot and sticky, until it poured down at about 5 o'clock.
Had fish n' chips on the way home!

4 weeks post transplant - Building up them muscles .....

I've been doing a bit of weight lifting today .......... using 2 tubs of Ben and Jerry's ice-cream!

The session didn't last very long though, coz the weight kept on going down! I wonder why?

Friday, 29 August 2008

Oh dear what a a shame.........Not!

On doctors orders, coz my phosphate level is 'too low' I've been told that I have to eat dairy lea cheese triangles, crunchy peanut butter and as much chocolate as I can get down my neck! without the Salad (and hopefully without throwing-up!!)

I just don't know if I'll be able to cope!.........LOL!! :-)

Great to see Elle and Ben yesterday at clinic.

Got muscles now, where I never had any before!

My Bezzi's

Went back to the hospital today for bloods and managed to catch up with my bezzi's; Shirley the squid and Brad(sorry James, you're my bezzi too, but you weren't there)! (woopwoop) My jaws still ache and after getting on the scales I think they're broke(hehe)! I think I'll have to eat more salad with my chocolate in future!

Also, best wishes to Jamie-Lee and the best of luck to her and the whole of her family. It was nice to see her looking well.

LOOK IT'S DAIVE!

This is Daive the Fish, he spends most of his time in the weed(Naughty, Naughty Daive!) Dad says he would taste nice with chips! ( Random Daive will know what I mean!)
Both Daive the fish and Random Daive are very alike! ( Daive will understand why, it's a LONG story)

First Shopping trip post transplant

We went to TGi Fridays for lunch, the waiter (Russ) put us in a cubicle away from everyone else, coz I shouldn't be mixing with crowds yet. I had this amazing dessert, which was a share (for 2 - 3 people) and I ate it all.

Even dad said he didn't think he would have been able to eat it! Ha Ha......looser!!!

I really want to go to Meadowhall, but too many people so we went over to Lakeside Shopping Centre in Doncaster , coz there's less people and I can wander outside and sit in the fresh air, if I feel a bit tired.

Really can't wait to go to Meadowhall to spend all of dad's money, but won't be for a month or so yet, so I'll just have to wait.

16 days post transplant

Went back for bloods today. Woke up at 7:30am, had breakfast and set of at about 8:20am but didn't even get there till like 9:30am, just coz of stupid traffic on the M1!

Docs' seemed pretty happy with blood pressure and stuff, so just have to go back again on Thursday morning.

Afterwards, I went shopping to SUPERPETS in Worksop (coz there weren't crowds of people there) and I bought a REDTAIL BLACK SHARK and I called it Daive (coz he's like proper minted), I also bought 2 splendens, (kit and kat) 2 rainbow fishys (peppermint and cream) and a male molly (blathers).

Meadowhall's GONE BUST?

Ok, ok, so MEADOWHALL hasn't really gone bust. It's just a figure of speech.

As you know already (or maybe not) I LOVE shopping! Especially at MEADOWHALL ,as it's only a couple of junctions away from where we live, so we usually go at least every week. But sadly, because i've been in hospital i havent been for at least 2 weeks!

David.C (annoying haemo nurse) decided to annoy me (once again) by saying ' I read in the paper today that MEADOWHALL'S gone bust' Well, he fooled me good. He then followed this sentence by saying 'The newpaper said it was because Megan hasn't been for at least a month' I then realised that he was making it up and I thought to myself ' Why did I believe him in the first place?Come on, it's David!

David's comment towards the 'cabbage fever' was that I might turn into a cabbage patch doll with the puffy cheeks and big heads. I just looked at him and gave him my 'evil eye treatment' He is just SO ANNOYING, but I will definatley miss him! (OMG, did I just say that? Another example of my theory)

Analize my early morning singings?

Last night, around 2am I had a song in my head AGAIN, so i woke up and started singing it to mum. The song was the one on the advert with brains from thunderbirds on it dancing on the table with a bottle of water. When I had finished singing it, I went straight back to sleep and left mum wide awake! (sorry mum!)

If there is anyone out there who can analize these 'strange awakenings' I would appreaciate your comments.

Just A Little Thank You Post!

This is just a little message to say a HUGE 'Thank You' to everyone who has been checking out my blog and commenting on my posts! I have really enjoyed writing it and I just hope that you have enjoyed reading it.(although I have had a bit of help with spelling from the old fella/ waitress dude in the corner)

I'm getting a bit addicted to this blog-job business, so this blog might go on for a while! SO, if I start going on about complete nonsense, you know i'm back to my old self again!

Caramel

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Yummy.

TODAY I RECOMMEND -Cadburys Dairymilk Caramel Chocolate Bar
with CUSTARD.

Rather an unusual taste, but when your restricted like me for just over 2 years, you end up not giving a damn AT ALL!

You've read the book, seen the film and now is THE SCAR!

IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT LOOK AT THIS PICTURE!

HERE IS STEVE THE SCAR- DAY 7

Scooby- Dooby-Doo!

As you can probably see, I have been rather busy colouring Scooby Doo posters and BLU-TACKING them to my Shower/WC door (as it says on the door)

Now you see it . . . .. . . Now you DONT!

As you can see, I had an Equador Magnum it was FANTASTIC! Within the time space of like 2 minutes it was gone! Mmmmmmmmm, I can taste it now. Yummy. I really enjoyed it but could probably do with at least another 2 . . . . . or 3. In fact . . . . . I could eat another 6 . . . . . . or maybe 10!

Ultrasound

Just had my ultrasound (jelly on the belly!) scan and all is working ok.
Good blood flow and profusion (whatever that means). Didn't manage to get a picci or you'de be able to see it too.

9 Days post transplant

It's now 9 Days since 'Sidney the kidney ' arrived. I've just realised that I'll now have 3 birthdays, even more than the queen.

Had 19 tablets and 3 slices of toast for breakfast this morning. Oh well, can't complain, won't be for too long, steroids finish in 5 days time.

Ultrasound scan later this morning, just to check all my plumbing is working. Let you know how that goes later today.

Thanks for all the cards and stuff.

Please put some comments on, I'm running out of stuff to read!

I wonder where it came from?

I really do think that this kidney came from a Vicar or a sunday school teacher, I'm being far too kind and caring about other people. Not started singing hymns yet, but there's always time.

With a song in my brain......

Woke mum up at 2am this morning, with a song in my brain...... "three little men in a flying saucer, flew round the world one day.........." don't know where it came from, but what the heck!

Got My Ravioli - woopwoop

Never was a lover of RAVIOLI. Now and then, when i was desperate I would have the stuff, but I never had a craving like this EVER! The first thing I wanted as soon as i'd come out of theatre was HEINZ RAVIOLI! I could taste it all the time, which made me want it even more!
Mum and dad said that i could have it as soon as they could get their hands on a tin of it, but it was hard because mum stayed for a few nights, then it was dad and then back to mum again. But FINALLY last night, mum bought me a tin and brought it to the hospital with her! I was so desperate, at around 8:30pm (after lasagne and tinned spaghetti) ate my RAVIOLI with great pride!
ALL the doctors said that it was the weirdest craving after transplantation EVER, Which made me feel proud inside. MAYBE, I should write to HEINZ and tell them about my craving, they might send me a lifetime supply of RAVIOLI or change the name of it to MEGZIOROLI!
That would be proper minted that would, but rather unlikely. Oh well ..... I can dream!

'Cabbage' fever

When Megz' transplant nurse told her to go for a walk to avoid 'cabin fever' she thought she said 'cabbage fever'....................... soon sorted out by a 'Dark Equador Magnum' though. Obviously having a bit of a moment.

Day 6 - Another day, another .........

Well, another day dawns, although that's technically incorrect as it never actually got dark, coz they didn't turn the ward lights until about 3am this morning.

Megz had a really good night and looks fab this morning and is on her 4th piece of toast and a cup of tea
.

Getting the hump!

We've started a collection of camels too, Camilla and Angus turned up over the last couple of days.

................ I hope they're house trained!

Taking the p*ss!!

It is truly amazing how much urine a body can produce. To go from a limit of 1lt a day and peeing 150ml to having to drink 3lts a day and peeing 4.5lts..............the mind boggles.

What a difference a healthy kidney can make to such a small body and the appetite attached to it.
Thank god for, internet access, eBay, Nintendo DS lite and nurses with a sense of humour, otherwise we would all have gone nuts! Thanks especially to Daive who made day 1 and 2 fly past.

Kidney Transplant - 5 days on

It's been 5 days since Megz had her kidney transplant. To say that it's been a tad on the stressful side would be an understatement, not really the time to try to give up smoking, alcohol, drugs, but I don't partake in them anyway so it doesn't really matter, but to be honest a packet of fags and a double Vodka would have gone down a treat on Saturday afternoon.
I realise that we missed the 50th wedding anniversary party, but 'I'm having a kidney transplant' must be the 'Carlsberg' of all excuses for not turning up.
